Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety: Participants will gain a solid foundation in occupational health and safety, understanding its importance, legal obligations, and the moral imperative of ensuring a safe work environment. They will explore the roles and responsibilities of employers, employees, and regulatory bodies in maintaining workplace safety.

Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification: This module focuses on identifying workplace hazards and assessing associated risks. Students will learn techniques for conducting risk assessments, including hazard identification, risk analysis, and risk evaluation. They will understand how to prioritize hazards based on severity and likelihood, enabling them to develop appropriate control measures.

Safety Legislation and Regulatory Compliance: Participants will study the legal and regulatory frameworks governing occupational health and safety. They will learn about relevant legislation, standards, and guidelines, and understand the importance of compliance. They will also explore the role of regulatory bodies and the consequences of non-compliance.

Workplace Safety Management Systems: This module introduces participants to safety management systems and their implementation. Students will learn about the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle, safety policies and procedures, safety audits and inspections, incident reporting, and investigation processes. They will understand how to develop and maintain a proactive safety culture within the organization.

Ergonomics and Workplace Design: Ergonomics plays a vital role in preventing workplace injuries and improving productivity. Participants will learn about ergonomic principles, workplace design considerations, and the identification and mitigation of ergonomic hazards. They will understand the importance of proper workstation setup, manual handling techniques, and ergonomics in the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders.

Occupational Health and Hygiene: This module focuses on the identification and control of occupational health hazards. Students will learn about exposure assessment, chemical safety, biological hazards, noise control, ventilation, and personal protective equipment (PPE). They will understand the importance of monitoring and maintaining a healthy work environment.

Emergency Preparedness and Response: In the event of emergencies or crises, preparedness and swift response are critical. Participants will learn about emergency planning, evacuation procedures, first aid and CPR, fire safety, and the role of safety committees. They will understand how to develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure a prompt and effective response.

Psychological Health and Well-being: This module explores the importance of psychological health and well-being in the workplace. Students will learn about the identification and management of workplace stress, mental health issues, and workplace violence. They will understand the role of organizational culture, leadership, and support systems in fostering a mentally healthy work environment.

Participants will learn strategies for delivering effective safety training, developing safety communication plans, and engaging employees in safety initiatives. Incident Investigation and Continuous Improvement: This segment focuses on incident investigation techniques and the importance of continuous improvement in occupational health and safety. Students will learn how to conduct thorough incident investigations, analyze root causes, and develop corrective and preventive measures. They will understand the role of data analysis, performance indicators, and feedback loops in driving continuous improvement.
